Rocket City

As the U.S. enters the Cold War, a brash Army major moves famed German rocket scientist Wernher Von Braun and his team to Huntsville, Alabama. Sparks fly when a young Jewish woman becomes aware of Von Braun's Nazi past and attempts to lead public outcry against the project. A Southern Writers' Project World Premiere inspired by true events.


About the Playwright – Mark Saltzman

Mark’s works for theatre include Romeo and Bernadette (Coconut Grove Playhouse, Paper Mill Playhouse) Mr. Shaw Goes to Hollywood (Laguna Playhouse, Pioneer Playhouse, Kentucky) and The Tin Pay Alley Rag (Pasadena Playhouse, Goodspeed, Cleveland Playhouse etc.). Mark also writes for television – notably on Sesame Street, where he won seven Emmys. His movies include Mrs. Santa Claus, a CBS holiday musical starring Angela Lansbury with songs by Jerry Herman, The Red Sneakers (Showtime) directed by and starring Gregory Hines and The Adventures of Milo and Otis.
